We offer performance opportunities to musicians (mostly amateur classical players) for a 90 minute workshop every month except July and August, at the Community Music Center in Portland, OR. If you are interested in participating, please fill out the form below.
Pieces can be solo or ensemble, piano (we have a good Steinway grand piano available) or other instruments, and there is no strict requirement for style. Modest contributions are perfectly welcome; we only ask that you “put your best foot forward,” so to speak. It’s a performance workshop, not a practice session, but so far this has not been an issue; we always get some really terrific music making! Solo pieces are usually limited to 10 minutes or so; ensemble pieces, with more than one player may be longer, and in special circumstances, longer pieces may be accommodated. Everyone is encouraged to participate, and don’t hesitate to direct questions to the organizers.
Arrangement of the order is at the discretion of the organizer, but requests to go early or late are taken into account. A place on the program is set pretty much first come first served, although three are frequently cancellations, so sometimes even very last minute requests can be fulfilled. We look forward to hearing from you!
